Education: Bachelors of Science in Mathematics, Masters of Science in Mathematics

Jordan, a National Merit Scholar, has been an aspiring math educator for the last 8 years tutoring privately and at the on campus teaching center, and most recently working as a TA in the math department. As a lifelong mathlete, his proudest moment came when he taught himself differential equations and won the state championship, all while in high school. Now that he's done competing, Jordan takes time off to relax by adventuring, binge watching the latest and greatest TV shows, and studying the art of manliness.

Steven has taught physics labs at the University of Florida and the University of California, Irvine. He also taught AP Physics at Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, Florida, and worked as a neutrino physics researcher at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Illinois. Steven loves road tripping and has driven from Florida to the northern tip of Alaska to New York and back in one trip!

Marty worked as a programmer and troubleshooter for a medical records company before deciding to teach. Once he came back to grad school, he was a TA for Circuits in the electrical engineering department at UF and an instructor in the math department at Santa Fe College. In his spare time, Marty writes electronic music, stays fit, and reads.

Jenn gave up the cold at the University of Utah to come back to the sunny skies at the University of Florida. She has tutored organic chemistry for over 5 years and was formally a tutor for the University Athletic Association. In her "free time" (1 hour a month) Jenn loves to travel, ski, scuba dive, and draw structures for the molecules listed on her shampoo bottle.

Rich started giving lectures in high school for chemistry at the age of 16. In his last two years of undergrad, he was a chemistry TA for General Chemistry 1 and General Chemistry 2. He's been doing Review Sessions for General Chemistry 1 and General Chemistry 2 for more than 15 semesters and at 3 different schools. If that does not excite you, in his free time, he enjoys turning Asian red, gambling in casinos, traveling, college football, and learning a fourth language.

Chris, who graduated Valedictorian from his high school, is the proud owner of a Finance degree from the University of Florida. He was a Teaching Assistant for Business Finance for 4 semesters and a former tutor for the University Athletic Association in 3 different business courses for another 4 semesters. He spends much of his time frequenting the local bars, binge-watching episodes of Homeland, and recounting the glory days of his intramural flag football team. Math nerd since the age of 5, Chris is all about helping people out with their studies so if you've got a question, ask away!

Though she might look young, Ashley has taught university courses at the University of Florida and Florida State University and is a current UAA tutor. She also worked as an actuary for one of the biggest consulting firms in the world. When she's not tutoring (or Keeping up with the Kardashians), Ashley spends her free time tailgating, cheering for the Gator football team, going on road trips, and working out.

Brett began as an organic chemistry tutor the second he completed orgo 1, and has continued to tutor for 5 years! His goal was to become a dentist but changed his mind, and his now continuing his education to be able to run hospitals! When he isn't drawing zig-zag lines and hexagons or studying, you might be able to catch Brett on the golf course, at the beach, or grabbing a drink at his favorite bar (Salty Dog)!

Graham, a National Merit Scholar, attended undergrad and law school on a full scholarship. He started his teaching career with SAT review sessions to his basketball team as senior in high school. Now, his main focuses are Economics, Accounting and LSAT. His honors thesis was on 'farming subsidies in 3rd world countries,' he has tutored accounting on 5 different campuses for 10 different professors, and scored in the 99.9th percentile on the LSAT. Don't let his love for sports, wings, and beer fool you, he is most definitely a closet nerd. Oh, and if you want to make his day, use the word Beastmode when asking him any question.

Ali has been pursuing mathematics on a competitive level since 9th grade. He's had experience tutoring football players and coaching his teammates on various levels for 3 years. Now that his access to competition has dwindled, he's decided to focus more on the tutoring aspect and to bring everyone as close to the same level of understanding (and maybe even appreciation!) for the subjects as he has. In his free time he likes to work on his coding projects, listen to the latest hip hop, or hone his mathematician skills.

Aaron fell in love with Organic Chemistry during Orgo 1and he started tutoring his friends for fun in Orgo 2. In his spare time, Aaron likes to ski, power lift, and read.

Patrick loves to travel around the world in his off time. When he was seven-years-old he learned how to speak mandarin while hiking the Himalayan mountain range. He is ambidextrous but only writes with his right hand. Michael Kors wears his watches and Calvin Klein has even asked for his underwear. It only rains when he gets hot out of courtesy. If he ever gets you a business card it will simply say, "I'll Call You."

Mia lived more than half of her life in Ukraine before moving to the sunshine state. She fell in love with organic chemistry after taking it with Dr. Portmess and was insane enough to take an organic based biochemistry course just for fun. In her spare time she likes to maintain an adventurous life style filled with traveling, dancing, music, and picking up more languages.

David is a recent graduate from UF with a B.S. in Astrophysics, but is currently taking part in a Pre-Med graduate program! He has been tutoring for 6 years now and has a love for all things science-related. When he's not studying or learning, he enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling, and nature.
